Hi, Please am currently searching for any idea on the cost of pickling stainless steels vessels/tanks. please does any one have any idea how this is carried out?

NB:The vessels in questions have a dia range from 0.2 to 1.6m with the cylindrical lengths in the range of 0.7 to 9.6m.

RE: Pickling/passivation stainless steel vessel/tanks UK companies

Hi.  If by pickling you mean passivate, this is done typically using nitric acid, or the more eco-friendly citric acid.  Temperatures are slightly elevated; and both yield excellent results.  Of course extensive post-rinsing is required, including de-ionized water, to ensure surface purity.  Consult ASTM for specifications.  If you're located in the Midwest, a company called Luke Engineering & Mfg. Co. (Wadsworth, OH) will take good care of you.  Tel: (330) 335-1501  Best wishes.

William Gunnar
