Building a conveyor on a small scale

(OP)
I need to design a small conveyor, to take small squares of metal from a surface to another one about 60cm higher. I'm using a small motor and a set of plastic gears.
What is best: using an inclined conveyor or a vertical one?
It must be easy to build it too...

Sounds like a simple cleated belt conveyor on an incline would work well. Simple operation and easy to build.
