I am looking for an array of proximity sensors 8" x 8" that can detect the path, angle, and speed of an object passing over it approximately 2-3 inches.

I also need a control devise that will analyse the sensors and project 3 images on a display. One as the object enters the 8 inch area, one as the object is in the center of the area and one as the object is about to leave the area.

Can anyone direct me to a company that has something like this or that can build a prototype. The more 'off the shelf' the better. [sig][/sig]

Suggestion:
This appears to be on a vision side. I went to the
and typed "vision" into "product/service" window.
Then, there were 299 companies under "Machine Vision System" at your discretion to contact. Some of them are very well known, e.g. Siemens.
Alternately, since this is a new field, many educational institutions have "Computer Vision" and "Robotics" departments that are doing research and prototyping in this area. They may find it challenging for some Theses or Disertations. [sig][/sig]
