CAPM or PMP

CAPM or PMP

CAPM or PMP

(OP)
Greetings!I am Electrical Design Engineer working in Saudi Arabia. I am looking for PMI Certification but the confusion I have in my mind is that shall I go for CAPM certification or PMP. I had been visiting Project Management forums since one year but what I have observed that people do not encourage you to go for CAPM certification rather they empshasize on PMP. Although I am design engineer but I have worked on most of the areas of Project Management. So please advise me keeping in view my experience level that which certification I shall take.

RE: CAPM or PMP

PMP would be preferred
CAPM is for young/new project managers as an interim to getting their PMP
just my thoughts

RE: CAPM or PMP

100% I recommend you to go for PMP. CAMP for people doing jobs like supervisor , foreman etc

RE: CAPM or PMP

PMP exam is really hard. It is very hard to pass. It may be happened that you have not passed the exam on your first attempt.

RE: CAPM or PMP

CAPM = Can't actually Project Manage. Put in the effort and get PMP, means so much more than CAPM.
