ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

(OP)
Any help that could be given for the plan reading part of the exam, specifically for missing labels on the structural plans for columns, and sometimes beams scheduling.

RE: ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

The plans used for the exam might not be what you are accustomed to. All the information you need to answer those questions is in those plans; perhaps, presented in a format you are not used to. Techs (some with barely a year of field tech experience) who work for firms I know, seem to have no problems with the plans- but then again, they were trained by someone in the firm.

Several people have posed similar questions; some in the concrete engineering or concrete testing forum. Do a search and you might get some valuable information.

Good luck.

RE: ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

seceret about the plan reading, there are mistakes on the plans, they are there on purpose. like any other plans

ICC special inspector, Structural masonry, Reinforced concrete.

RE: ICC reinforced concrete exam questions

Granted, nearly all plans have mistakes (hopefully just minor) on them; nonetheless, I do not believe the exam committee will knowingly develop questions based on those mistakes.

If there are questions you cannot answer because of some error on the plans, then you should challenge them. There is a challenge sheet you can fill out after you have completed the exam.
