Indium wire

(OP)
I am looking to find some indium wire for our lens assembly. We have purchased some in the past but those records are long gone and the rep from our gas provider has not come up with anything promising. Is there anything that can be used instead of indium?

RE: Indium wire

Don't be afraid to look on eBay for small quantities of Indium.  Although your indium suppliers will try to scare you off with horror stories (... and then the indium wire from eBay came alive and strangled him...), in reality there are some ex-industry guys on there who sell quality stuff at reasonable prices.  Just check feedback and ask questions.

RE: Indium wire

Hi,We have our own factory to process indium products such as indium foil, indium wire, indium ball, indium powder, indium target, ITO, etc.. The quality is high standard, and the price is very favorable. Our indium products have been exported to USA, UK, Germany, Holland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, etc.. and the quality is well appreciated by our customers.
Indium wire is widely used to create high vacuum seals in cryogenic apparatus, 1.0mm diameter ideal for making seals where radial space is limited. We make a wide range of Indium wire diameters. One of the most requested sizes is 1.0mm, but our available range from 0.5mm to 3.0mm and larger.
Meanwhile, Indium foil is ideal for creating cryogenic vacuum seals. High quality Indium foil is available in many sizes, or they can be custom made to customers' requirements. Indium foil is supplied in sheet form.
