Underbody Venturi Data?

Underbody Venturi Data?

Underbody Venturi Data?

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I have put considerable time into the research of underbody aerodynamics of high performance sports cars.  I'm specifically interested in data for underbody channels/tunnels that that have a slight flow nozzle section and a diffuser.

I have found enough info on diffuser sections alone from SAE papers, but it seems that modern data on underbody channels(venturis) is elusive.

I'm not trying to delegate my work to anybody here, i just want to know if anybody knows of useful references off- hand specifically for underbody venturis.

Thanks!

RE: Underbody Venturi Data?

Have you checked out the series of SAE Technical Papers by Cooper & Syms from NRC Canada and G. Sovran, retired GM?  2000-01-0354 was one of them.  Lots of stuff on diffusers, don't remember if venturi/channels was covered, though.  The references in their papers would probably be a good place to look.

Have you looked at the books by Katz and Hugo?  I know the topic is discussed in New Directions in Race Car Aerodynamics, but can't remember if it is discussed in Aerodynamics of Road Vehicles.  You can obtain both books from SAE.
