Lamp-house manufacturers ?

Dear all,

I'm looking for a tool-shop in the EU that can make lamp-houses and reflectors, both prototyping and small-series.

Thanks :)

RE: Lamp-house manufacturers ?

You need to look at someone who does metal spinning as one direction.  The problems comes when you only need a few as most companies gear up for large numbers.

You didn't specify any material and if you could comeback with your requirements you may get some better information about the required materials, type of, and size needed.

RE: Lamp-house manufacturers ?

There are plenty of metal spinners in the UK, I had some cones done some time last year, about 6 or so, tooled up with a wooden master. I think they were £80 each (Ø80x250) in aluminium, including tooling.

There are also plenty of polishers who would be able to finish the reflector for you.

As for a one stop shop you're likely out of luck.

Hi Ninja182,

Thanks for your response. I am looking for someone who can build a casing to (my) CAD and yes - polishing and anodizing reflectors - getting harder and harder to find in the EU - I need that too.

This job in not for a once-off, but longer term, since we design new product on a regular basis.

The main difficulty is that we first wish to test a concept and make a prototype, possibly optimize design, build a small series and only then upscale production.

Right now I have some 3-4 projects pending - when the main problem is polishing and anodizing reflectors.

I have found metal-spinners and here in NL and case-builders - but the reflector remains a huge problem, and naturally I would prefer an all-in-one manufacturer because only they would warrant performance...

Please let me know if you are aware of any possibilities in the UK - it is a short distance away and well worth the effort for us.
