Fringe plot possible?

Fringe plot possible?

Fringe plot possible?

(OP)
Curious, how difficult would it be to make a fringe plot given an x,y position and the fringe variable.   The x,y positions would be discrete and not a function.  Similar to having a series of nodes in a plane and getting a stress component as a fringe.

RE: Fringe plot possible?

I'm not sure what a fringe plot is.  The first relevent search hit looked like a contour plot, so is it another name for a contour plot, or does it have some other features?

I don't know of an easy way to get a contour plot in Excel (assuming we are talking Excel VBA here).  There are probably Excel add-ins out there that will do it, but you might be better off with a specialist plotting program.

IDS,

A little different than a contour plot.

Some examples would be here:

But not as elaborate.  Typically there is a scale that has red as high stress areas and blue as low stress areas (but many other ways to do this).

I figured it would not be something easily done, but thought maybe someone already took a crack at it.
