I had posted a similar question earlier. I like to add more clarification to the questions. What is benefit of having construction zone on one side of highway lanes Vs on both sides. How is driver reaction impacted? Any research on accident history? Any state standard not allowing construction zones on both sides of freeway lanes? Any guidence/research/tips will be appreciated. Thanks

It is my experience "work areas" (that are not on the rdwy being utilized for traffic) usually are separated by positive barriers, so it usually does not matter if the work is required to be performed on both sides of the freeway simultaneously.

If this is fact your question
