Livescribe Electronic Pen Device

There is a discussion thread in Pat's Pub regarding the new electronic marvel - "Livescribe".  Thought I would transfer the topic over to one of the main non-member forums for all to discuss.  Was on a project down in Houston a couple of months ago and an associate had one of these.  Very, very cool and worth checking out.

RE: Livescribe Electronic Pen Device

come on ornerynorsk give us a bit more than that, what made it worth the cool status?

An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made in a very narrow field

RE: Livescribe Electronic Pen Device

And what's the real sense of it? Does it make our life or job easier? I don't think so. I would call it funny but not cool.

RE: Livescribe Electronic Pen Device

I used to want one of those when I was in college (they had clumsier ones even way back then), but I couldn't afford it.  I can't see what I'd use one for now...

Everything that you doodle on paper can be downloaded to your hard drive for archiving, design history file, etc., without having to scan each page.  That's cool in my book. (Less work in the office)  The audio feature is also handy in those little impromptu meetings when you don't seem to have a paper and pen handy.  Just saying.
