What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM into NX6?

What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM into NX6?

What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM into NX6?

What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM on my native hard drive into NX6?

Right now I believe it is by using export/import .dxf files.

Side Note:  Why is there no "All file types" when I File->Open?

This conversion from I-deas to NX6 is such a giant pain in the butt.

Thanks,
FR

RE: What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM into NX6?

Are you talking about I-deas 'Symbol' files?

Yes.

Your .sym files should be included in the normal CCM conversion process when moving other files from Ideas to NX.

Thanks John for the reply.

Does CCM = CMM?

I'm trying to get my drawing formats set up ahead of time as (File->New) templates.  These templates require some "stamps" that we have in i-deas symbols.  (For example electrostatic sensitivity picture of a hand with a line through it.)

Therefore it would be nice if I could migrate some I-deas .sym symbols without migrating the entire TDM.

I was planning on bugging GTAC anyway today...  I'll post what I find out.

RE: What is the best way to get I-deas .SYM into NX6?

Sorry, yes that was CMM.
