Hi all,
COuld any one help meout in telling me as to how actually i have to go about to getthe stress values at integration points in ansys.
i want integration points output and nodal solution seperately
if u can jot down the step by step GUI commands it would help me.

Hi,
i am afraid that there is no ANSYS commands that can satisfy your need. I have seen all commands of /POST1 (general postprocessing) of ANSYS and there is only nodal and element solution, but no output for integration points.
May be, you should write a small application and embed it in to ANSYS, normally with FORTRAN

I may be wrong but I think for some of the elements you
may be able to set one of the keyopt's when you pick the element so that values at integration points are outputted. I don't have accesss to ANSYS at the moment but if I remember tommorrow I'll check it out and repost.

Hi,
pja is right, you can print out the output solution at integration points for some elements (normally 2D and 3D).
It would be better wenn you request all output types for the solution, to ensure that those solutions are also output by ANSYS, i.e. introducing the command OUTPR, ALL.
Suppose you have defined PLANE42 as your element number 1 and want to get the integration points solution for this element, then define the KEYOPT,1,6,3. This means the KEY OPTion number 6 of element number 1 has the value 3.
I have seen, that most of the 2D & 3D elements have this KEYOPT for output the integration points solution.

I am sorry, i am studying error estimate. Can Ansys output the stress that had not been averaged/projected ?

Can we choose if whether stress on nodal was averaged by average/projection ?
