Canadian sources have experience with overlogging of ancient woodland in rough terrain...

...erosion is particularly bad because heavy rains and poor soil make it difficult to establish suitable ground cover. Maybe something like kudzu takes quickly, but what damage does it do to the native ecosystem? Consult London Museum of Natural History or BBC Natural History unit for ecological advice.
