We have products that are anodized, clear (AA-M12C22A31 ) and dark bronze (AA-M12C22A44 ), I'm looking for information on the resistance to three chemicals used in a disinfectant cleaner( trade name Ascend ).
The chemicals are (1) Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chlordide, (2)N-alkyl (C14 50%, C12 40%, C16 10%) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, and (3) ethanol.
Percentages are listed as %(w/w) with chemical (1) being 9.22, (2) 6.14% and (3) 1-5%.
Will this affect the apppearance or the actual anodized surface at all.

The chemical resistance of the anodized layer can be quite good, depending on several factors.  The anodic layer is aluminum oxide (Al2O3), so it is quite resistant to attack by most substances.  However, the typical anodizing processes result in a somewhat porous coating, which allows easier migration of the corrosive substances to the aluminum surface.  Sealing of the anodic coating is quite common, but the sealing substances are less corrosion resistant, and differ in their resistance to specific media.  Questions about resistance to specific media should be posed to a knowledgeable producer of these coatings.  Metalast is an excellent place to start: http://www.metalast.com .
