Hello all.

I have a question regarding the f06 load and stress outputs for a CQUAD4 element defined with PSHELL properties, specifically in relation to the following.

I've been trying to determine the calculation of the shear stresses that NASTRAN outputs for a CQUAD4 element. Is it the sum of the quotient between the elemental Nxy outputs and thickness (ie. Nxy/t) and 6Mxy/t^2, for an element under both in-plane and bending loads? Note "xy" are being referred to as subscripts.

Or am I just way off-base violating the basis of the CQUAD4 derivation all together by considering the combination of the two???

Much appreciate enlightenment on the matter.

Thanks in advance,
Silver
