Underfloor vehicle exhaust extraction for heavy duty vehicles
Underfloor vehicle exhaust extraction for heavy duty vehicles
(OP)
I am required to specify the underfloor vehicle exhaust extraction system. The system serves 16 floor outlets for heavy duty vehicles as Trucks,Cranes, snow movers.I have designed the system for 100% duty with each outlet @600 cfm.The fan is 9600 cfm at 4 inch static pressure.A bypass damper would modulate based on the duct static pressure to maintain flow for the fan. This helps the variable speed general exhaust for the shop which can modulate to save energy.
I want to get your feed back on the the following:
the most suitable duct material for underfloor ducting :PVC or ceremic tiled pipe or Galvanized duct encased in concrete?I prefer to go with concrete encased Galvanized steel duct due to heavy vehicles. And for the above ground duct is this got be welded galvanized steel duct ?
Further is a true infloor or disappearing system available for 6 inch hose to tail pipe.I am told by supplier that disappearing system is available for 4 inch hose.Did any one use disappearing system for 6 inch hoses ?
