Health Insurance - Groups for Engineering Firms

Health Insurance - Groups for Engineering Firms

(OP)
I work for a small engineering firm which is looking at going from a group plan to private insurance due to the ever-escalating costs of insurance and the economic slowdown.

Given that my employer-based group plan is going away, are there other industry-based groups that I can ally myself with to get group-based health coverage while remaining at my current employer?

Thanks!

NSPE and ASCE have some programs...

Or join AAA - they have some.

If you are in an area that it serves, Blue Cross-Blue Shield has some good family and individual plans.

Get quotes wherever you can get them.  I had Assurant through State Farm.  It was OK.

Thanks for the ideas.  I'm with a company that I like but the benefits keep sliding down and down every year...trying to stabilize the tailspin and keep above water until the economy turns...though I may need to go join the army or something.
