We have bought slip on and Blind flanges as per ISO 7005/1 Type 01 and 05.  Material SA105.  These are meant for use in Pressure vessel.

We have found some of the flanges lesser in thickness of 1mm to 3mm.  The tolerance as per ISO 7005/1 is +3/-0.  I would like to know the effect of negative tolerance and how to use it.

negative tolerance provide your risk of flange leak due to not easy to tightening, especially when the pipe OD >6", more stress to your flage if you try to fit it..
