Hi all:

What kind of steel is the best for making cutters for wood planers.
I had a sample but it was make with AISI 1070 and does not work well.
The overall size are 2Ft lenght, 3/8" thick  and 3" wide.

Pardal,

Check out the following webpage for Sandvik Steel: http://www.steel.sandvik.com/diecutting/. ; It has quite a bit of information on the steels that they provide in this area.  SAE 1070 is at the low end.  1095 would be next, then you start to get into alloy steels and tool steels.
