RE: How to simulate the crash of composites

Loyer,

I suggest doing a search on www.Google.com for additional resources on the crashworthiness simulation of a composite tubes. I found the following links that you may find interesting:

http://www-cms.ornl.gov/composites/home.html
www.esi-group.com/sitehicas/eccm.pdf
http://howard.engr.siu.edu/staff2/abrate/crush.html
www.elsevier.com/cdweb/journals/02638223/viewer.htt?viewtype=keywords&rangeselected=12

Please let me know if you need any specific information and I will happy to try to help.

Good luck!

Best regards,

Thank you, MLoew
I want to do the crash analysis, but I still have some problems.

1. Is there anything special in the constitution equations;

2. Should the buckling problem be considered during the process of the crashworthy simulation.

3. The post-buckling analysis problem.

I suggest you go to ALGOR and look at their MEchanical Event simulation sfotware. They do include composite pipes in their Pipepak software that enables you to apply response spectrum and other dynamic loading.
