RE: ROSE EXTRACTION

If this is KBR's ROSE process, I'm afraid my knowledge is limited to the C3/C4 solvents with some limited information on the pentane solvent.  I hadn't heard they were using hexane as well.  If that information would help you, let me know.

RE: ROSE EXTRACTION

Same as said by TD2K, the KBR ROSE unit is with C2/ C3.  Havent heard of Rose unit with Hexane (C6).  I will be intersted in theis topic if you find anything on the C6 Solvent let me know.

Thanks.

Thanx

RE: ROSE EXTRACTION

As far as I'm aware of, the ROSE process doesn't involve supercritical extraction as the name would indicate but supercritical solvent recovery and extract fractionation.

RE: ROSE EXTRACTION

That's true, the solvent is below the critical temperature for the extraction of the paraffinic oil.  It's then taken above the critical temperature to cause the oil's solubility in the solvent to essentially go to zero allowing the two to be separated in a simple 2 phase separator.
