Jan Józef Ignacy ?ukasiewicz was the founder of the Polish oil industry and one of the pioneers of oil industry in the world. ?ukasiewicz became a wealthy man and one of the most prominent philanthropists. In1856 in Ulaszowice he opened an "oil distillery", that is considered the first industrial oil refinery in the world. In that time nobody was worried about the global greenhouse effect.
