Summary Bars - Calculating totals

Summary Bars - Calculating totals

(OP)
In Project 2002, I need to set up a project and report basic earned value parameters (BCWS, BCWP and SPI).  Whilst I can do this and I can produce this data on a task by task basis, what I really need is a project summary.  Unfortunately no matter how I approach this, the summary level activities don't calculate the sum of the information below.

I know that I could extract the data, whiz it into excel and do the calculation, but that seems to be a ridiculously long winded way of performing an activity that any decent project planning tool (P3E comes to mind) can do automatically.

All sensible suggestions welcomed.
