Need to change the basic legend label using the gantt chart. any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jdude,
Double click on the gantt area, it brings up the bar styles box. Click on the name 'Task' and edit the name in the edit area (between the 'cut row' button and the 'Name' title) to whatever name you want. Sounds like you're trying one of the most basic moves - try the help feature.
