Job Tracking Software?
Job Tracking Software?
(OP)
I was wondering what software was being used to track jobs. I could spend a good bit of time and create a database, but I'd prefer to buy a package. I hear that Microsoft Project is good, but we don't want to have to buy Server OS for our server machine here.
Any suggestions?
(p.s. This may have been addressed in this forum before, but the search feature was down so I couldn't search old threads)

RE: Job Tracking Software?
The 2 big ones are MS Project and PrimaVera. PrimaVera is very powerful scheduling software, but you really need a "PrimaVera" guy to use it.
MS Project requires a little expertise if you want to really utilize it for resource loading, do baselining, etc. But can be picked up much easier than PrimaVera. Obviously it is Windows based.
Again, depending on your needs, I've also done it with Excel, works fine.
