Is E & O insurance and proffesional liability insurance the same thing?

RE: E & O and Professional Liabilit Insurance

Essentially the same.  Professional liability is just a more general term.  For example, doctors have malpractice insurance and engineers have errors and omissions insurance.  Both are forms of professional liability insurance.

While those are the same, you also need a general business insurance policy.

That policy will protect you if you break your leg on a job site.  The E&O will not.  My clients require both insurance policies.
