What causes DI water resin beds' lifespan to suddenly decrease?
What causes DI water resin beds' lifespan to suddenly decrease?
(OP)
The lifetime of our DI resin columns recently reduced to less than 1/2 of the cycle times we experienced for the past 5 years. Our vendor believes that CO2 saturation is the culprit, however the water source has remained constant, and I have a hard time identifying a source for the increased CO2. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what could cause a sudden (overnight) reduction in resin lifetime?
RE: What causes DI water resin beds' lifespan to suddenly decrease?
There may be several reasons for cycle reduction, for instance a change of water quality. However I think it's probably a regeneration problem. Please tell me what your system is. How many vessels, resin type, flowrate, regenerant type (what acid), regenerant level, raw water analysis. I'll try to help
