In-line air pressure switch

In-line air pressure switch

In-line air pressure switch

(OP)
We have a machine that uses air-punches to place a feature onto a gear. The feature is unsatisfactorily developed if the air pressure in the lines isn't high enough, and I want to indicate this by faulting out the machine with an error and preventing further production is air pressure isn't high enough.

Is there anything I can install in line with the air line to sense this? We are maybe talking 115 PSI. The only solution I could find were these parker sensor, but I am unfamiliar with them.

Am I on the right track? Can anyone give me a hand?

RE: In-line air pressure switch

There's plenty of inexpensive pressure sensors with digital outputs out there on the market.  I think I remember www.turck.com has one, among many more.  You can plumb in a shunt circuit to know the pressure of your punch line.  When pressure falls below a pre-determined setpoint, you get a signal.

RE: In-line air pressure switch

would`nt a simple pressure switch work... like on a air compressor. simple an inexpensive with a relay for control..

RE: In-line air pressure switch

I thought ifemfector?  was the best pressure switch manufacturer.  Always had a solution and their pressure switches were very versatile and very reliable and very simple to use.

RE: In-line air pressure switch

I have used a Festo switch like this, push lock fittings and  I believe you can get a reed output or order it as PNP or NPN, with a pico fast QD, and it is programmable

RE: In-line air pressure switch

Plenty of airswitches on the market. I'd be looking at you sideways if you suggested to me that we wait for air pressure to build however. I want quality production and I want it now.
