Help on filtering oil
We build small filter systems to filter coolant used in carbide grinding.
We use Big Blue 10” housings with a 25 micron bag followed by a 5 micron cartridge. In a water based coolant we remove up to 99% of all particles down to 1 micron. In any sort of oil the units preform very poorly.
The current oil has a viscosity of 78 SUS at 100ºF. Our customer is willing to switch to an oil with a viscosity of 40 SUS at 100ºF.
It has also been suggested that we switch to a 20” long filter from the current 10” so as to get more surface area.
We are pumping at 17 gpm.
We are willing to look at any solution. If you can help us or know anyone who could I would appreciate hearing about it.
Thank you,
Tom
