Hi all,
I'm trying to simulate the pressurization of a rubbery circular cylinder (say a grain) enclosed in a cylindrical rigid surface (say a chamber). Between the inner rubbery cylinder and the external chamber there is a small gap due to a small difference between the external diameter of the grain and the diameter of the chamber.
The chamber was modelled as a revolution shell (analytical rigid) while the grain is a user defined hyperelastic material a little bit compressible (which does not give simulation problems as I determined on another configuration).
I’d like to simulate the pressurization phase when the grain is filling the gap but what I’ve found is that nodes on the external surface of the grain penetrate into the rigid surface. Below you can find details on the simulation:
-Abaqus/Standard Solver
-Tet-Hybrid, Second Order, Reduced Integration Elements
-Chamber Rigid surface: Master Surface of the contact pairs
-Grain External surface: Slave Surface
-Rigid Constraint on the chamber
-Hard Contact Interaction property, Augmented Lagrange
