electronic welders
electronic welders
(OP)
There is a component on a electronic welder that other electricians are cutting off the circuit board to make the welder "run better" (these welders seem to not shut down due to heat after prolonged use), it comes off the main 600 volts and it is between two of the phases. VR is beside the component which is circular and has two legs on the two phases. Is this a varistar or voltage regulator? . Isn't this protecting the electronics? If so, it doesn't make sense how this would enhance the performance of the welder. Can someone enlighten me........
