If suspect that you are speaking about degregation of the Diesel fuel by bacteria. I have seen information regarding marine diesel fuel storage. This may have been in a boating manual or handbook. I would expect that it addressed protection or prevention.

Is it bacteria or algae? This topic has been discussed in this forum before. Do a search. Search on jet fuel as well.

You may want to talk with GE Betz, Baker-Hughes or Nalco to name a few as these folks have a wealth of experience with bacterial contamination of fuels and what to do about the problem.
