Building a robot station

Building a robot station

  We are building a robot station, and would like some input on whether to bolt straight to the concrete floor with potted inserts, or to lay in a steel plate with threaded grid to bolt in the assy tools and the robot.  

The robot will zero off the tool at every part change.

Any help or warnings will be appreciated......

In our terms, cast iron bedplates with a regular pattern of holes, are cheap. If you are trying to get cheaper than that, but want to retain some flexibility, then my old lab used pairs of C section beam set down into the concrete. We then dropped threaded plates into the gap, and could bolt fixtures down, while being able to move them around if required.
