i recently bought a Room Alert 11E device. After loading AVTECH Device Discovery and configuring an IP address to the device, my attempts to view and change device SETTING failed. The Java applet is not loading; as such the sensors thresholds cannot be changed. In addition, Installation of PageR Enterprise form the supplied CD prompts us for a product License key which was not supplied within the product documentation. Below is a print out from the java console:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/avtech/roomalert/applet/AdvancedTab

            at com.avtech.roomalert.applet.SettingsApplet.init(Unknown Source)

            at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)

            at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Any tips would be helpful. I have tried using Internet explorer and mozilla on XP and windowns 2000.

RE: java help

You probably need JRE or JDK installed on your system.  If you already have JRE, you may have the wrong version.  Like everything else, there are lots of versions and some pieces of S/W are targeted to certain versions (whatever they say about Java being generic etc).

RE: java help

A lot of stuff is likely to be locked without the product license key. Go back to your supplier and get it before spending too much time struggling to bypass it.

Good Luck
