How to Change Text Attributes in V8?

How to Change Text Attributes in V8?

How to Change Text Attributes in V8?

(OP)
Dear all,

I have a problem with text attributes here. I used PLACE NOTE command and my text was right justified.  I do this because I want a leader for my text and whenever I move my test, the leader follows right along.  Now, I need to make all my text left justified.  I tried using the CHANGE TEXT ATTRIBUTES command, but it just doesn't seem tot work.  Advice and suggestions, please.  Thank you so much.

RE: How to Change Text Attributes in V8?

I can't tell from your question if you are changing the existing text or placing new text, but here goes:

1.  If text is new, go to Element / Dimension Styles / Place Note.  You will see 4 ways of justifying your text about 3/4 of the way down.  They are dynamic justified, left justified, center justified, and right justified in order from left to right.  99% of the time I use the dynamic justified button, so my text will automatically adjust depending on which way the leader is point.  Just click on the justification you want to use and type away.

2.  If you are editing existing text, placing a note is technically a dimension and not "text" as I would understand it.  Again go to Element / Dimension Styles / Place Note.  Click on the justification that you want.  Then go your your "Dimensions" toolbar, click on the "Change Dimension" button, and then click on the leader of the note you want to change.  That should do it.

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks, broekie for your suggestions and advice and I will try it out.

I am actually changing existing text.  I had initially used PLACE NOTE to place the text and leader and the the text was to the right of the object, right justified and the horizontal leader was on the top right.  However, I found out that internal policy requires me to have the text left justified and horizontal leader to be on the right bottom.  I would have thought that there would be a command, or commands, that would allow me to (i) manipulate the justification of my text, and (ii) manipulate where my leader is placed.  I tried CHANGE TEXT ATTRIBUTES without too much luck in V8.

Do you have a clearer understanding of my situation now?  Please keep those advice and suggestions coming?  Thank you much.

RE: How to Change Text Attributes in V8?

Do step 2 above to manipulate the text justification, but I am not aware of anything that will change where the leader is placed.

If anywhere else out there is, please share that info.
