Hello guys,

Can anybody help me with some nice articles on transmission line antennas (leaky) or any info related to those.

thanks

RE: Need some info

Hi guys,

I am trying to find some info on Microstrip transmission line antenna. From what I know we can control characteristic impedance of transmission line by changing thickness of dielctric substrate and width of conductor trace.

If I am trying to design microstrip transmission line antenna, what is the ideal characteris impedance Iam looking for? do I need to adjust it to 50 ohms because transmitter output is 50 ohms or anything is fine aslongas I terminate this line with charactesitic imedance?

If you need frequency information just take any UHF frequency. I am trying to understand this whole thing nothing particular in frequency.

thanks

"Do I need to adjust it to 50 ohms because transmitter output is 50 ohms..."

In general, yes.

"...or anything is fine as long as I terminate this line with charactesitic imedance?"

In general, no.

Thanks for the reply.
