Hi All!
On one of my projects Ihad to desig some carbon fiber strenghtening of an existing steel structure.

Please can you help me with some kind of reference for the best practice of installing maintaning an etc.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated!

My assujption is you will build carbon strips to be post-bonded to the structure as opposed to in-situ layup.  In either case any of the major manufactrers should have a product.  I am betting you looking at either a urethane or methacylate.  It depends on the shear load at the bond line.  

As well, a lot of research on this has been done at the U of Delaware under contract from Dupont.   HOWEVER, this was to use the C-fiber to reinforce exsisting concrete structures...mostly parking decks etc.  Look through "High Performance composites" magazine issues for more names in the bridge industries...should be good info.
