how to design a power factor improvement plant for a load of 1300 kw? we have load of 360 kw pf of supply company is 0.6 and we need to improve it upto 0.9 then pfi plant of 150 kvar is sufficient?

I'm not sure what the 1300kW in your question represents, but dealing with the 360kW at .6 pf, this means your plant is drawing 480kvar, to get .9pf you need to reduce this to 175kvar, so you need 305kvar of pf correction.  You should probably add more than that so you don't have problems for changes in the load over the seasons or in the future.
