Saving as mcd or xmcd

Saving as mcd or xmcd

Saving as mcd or xmcd

(OP)
With Mathcad version 12 we avoided saving as xmcd because when that xmcd file was opened in another computer the formulas and the text got disorganized/scattered.

Now we have version 13.  But when I tried to save it has xmcd as the default. I did however found mcd for Mathcad worksheet 11 and 12.

Is there a way I can save my file as mcd in version 13, or do I have to save it as xmcd?

Thanks

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

I don't recall any reason why you can't, other than losing any post-11 features you might be using

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

There is no SaveAs for mcd and R13.

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

What are you talking about?  M13 saves both M2001i and M11, both of which are .mcd format.

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

There is no mcd and R13.  There is mcd and older versions but there is no option to save a R13 vesion as mcd.  R13 can save back to R11 or R12 as mcd but it can not save an mcd as R13 version.

I guess I am still trying to find out how should I save my Mathcad 13 files?  What are you guys using?

THANKS

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

I use mcd because it seems to load and save faster.  I ahve not noticed a difference betwen R11 and R12 for my purposes, so I use R12.

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

mcd is incompatible with the new features of 12 and 13.
You could save in the zipped format, which is at least smaller

So is the new standard to save in Mathcad 13 xmcd?

RE: Saving as mcd or xmcd

For compactness, you might want to save as xmcdz, which is compressed.
