I insert a lot of pictures/figures in my files, it would be REALLY useful if there was an auto caption feature as there is in Word, so the numbering will automatically adjust itself if you insert a new caption.  Is there anyway to do this?  Is this in Mathcad 13 or extension packs?

Not directly.  However, you might be able to use a scriptable textbox to emulate that functionality
