Audible Steel Belts?

I have a structural question.

Yesterday I was washing our van and noticed that only on ONE of the tires (happens to be on the left front), if I press down onto the tread with my thumb (not the sidewall, but the tread area), I can hear a faint "squeak" sound. I'm pretty ignorant of tire construction, but it almost sounds like...two metal steel belts rubbing against each other? It only happens on this one tire, and none of the tires on my other car do it.

Should I be concerned about it? Does it sound like belt separation? The tire rides smooth and has no other problems. Is this normal...and it just happens to be loud enough for me to faintly hear?

Thanks,
Jason

I would be concerned and, no, it's not 'normal'.

"The tire rides smooth..."---maybe, 'so far'?

I had a 'ton' of tread separations with my company trucks, 235x85R 16's, probably overloaded, for sure. None the less, they sure make a racket when they come off!
