The use of polyurethane foam (PUF)in sealing abandoned mine shafts and adits is now becoming common among govt agencies and mining companies. Has anyone out there used PUF as a light-weight substitute backfill behind retaining walls or in other mining or construction related uses? It seems to me that PUF would work well in drill hole sealing (P&A), but States are reluctant to approve this media.
