I am using handycricekt board  microcontroller and I am asking can I use with it  sonar sensors and what is the conecpt of sonar sensors  work

A sonar sensor (parking radar or camera focussing device being good sources) is a high frequency loudspeaker and microphone. the time delay between the emitted pulse and the retrurn is proportional to the distance between the emitter and the target.

Vredeman (sp?) make a parking radar kit that can be hacked to be used on a robot, but its range is limited.
