A bolted flange and an impact wrench?

No, seriously, we can put v-band flanges in our stuff, so it's possible to have just one nut, but it's not intended for many mate/demate cycles, and it's not as fast as a cam.

Speaking of which, we can get v-band clamps made up with cam-operated closures, but for just one or two, we'd probably just weld a regular overcenter latch to a regular v-band clamp.

Thanks for the response Mike, but we need something with a longer life than that.  I am looking at a cam and groove setup, but need to be careful with the gasket material.  An elastomer obviously won't work, but maybe a copper gasket or something along those lines would work.

The customer doesn't like to use tools.  Air tools aren't well supported where this will be and hand tools are easily (and frequently) lost.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I'm thinking of a Cam-Loc coupling, like they use on fuel trucks and such, with a bellows for a gasket.  Both that and a copper gasket would suffer from contamination by random dirt.  Maybe knitted wire would do better.

That's exactly where I was headed.  I have a cam-and-groove on my desk that I picked up last night and I'm looking into alternatives for the gasket.  I'm thinking something in fiberglass right now.
