Copy drawing with model

(OP)
Hi i'm kinda new to PRO-E WF 2.0 together with Windchill PDM-Link.

My question is that i would like to make a copy of a drawing and at the same time make a copy of the linked 3D-model which then can be edited. This while i maintain the link between the drawing and the model.

The reason why i would like to do this is that i don't want to do all the boring 2D drawing work all over again just because im making a new variant of the same product.
Does anybody know a best practice for this sort of stuff??

Best Regards
Henrik

RE: Copy drawing with model

Reaperman,

the config file option that will allow you to do this is called RENAME_DRAWINGS_WITH_OBJECT.  In Pro/E 2001 this can be set in Utilities > Options.  I'm not a WF user but I'm sure you can just set it in your Config file.  It will allow you to set the value to both, part, assembly or none.

Do you trust your intuition or go with the flow?

RE: Copy drawing with model

Yes, this works well. But if you are copying a model with a Family Table (or flat state, as in sheetmetal). Make sure to rename the instances to the new names. This is done manualy.
