I tried opening my Mathcad document on a different computer but I keep getting "Failed to open document" notice at this computer. The computer the sheet was created on is running Windows 2000 and the one I am trying to open it on is XP. The sheet has components that are notepad files (just txt files) which I opened on the Windows 2000 computer and resaved. But still cannot open the Mathcad document.

Any idea why this is happening?

Also, both computers have Mathcad 2000 loaded.

RE: Failed to open document

What version of Mathcad and what version of antivirus do you have on the machine that does not open the file?

I think there is something wrong with the Mathcad installation on the second computer. It won't even allow me to create a new component in a new document, I keep getting an "internal error" message.

RE: Failed to open document

Oh, then you should definitely un-install and re-install.  If there are service packs, they should all be installed within the same session.  Even opening up Mathcad before installing the service packs have been known to cause problems.
