Computer Programs for Gravity / Cantilever Retaining Walls

Computer Programs for Gravity / Cantilever Retaining Walls

Computer Programs for Gravity / Cantilever Retaining Walls

(OP)
I am looking for any FREE computer programs that may be available on the web to analyze the bearing capacity, overturning, and sliding of earth retention wall systems.  I need only a basic level program that an intern can use to verify hand calculations for cantilevered structures.  Does anyone know of one and how to get it?  I have searched FHWA and USACE and have not found one yet.  Does anyone know if CTWALL still exists?

Thanks for your help,

Randolfo

RE: Computer Programs for Gravity / Cantilever Retaining Walls

I have as of now one free mathcad sheet but it is for strict cantilever trench walls with no tie backs, so really of scarce practical use, since cantilevering such way is not economical. Furthermore no consideration of watertable presence is made. I plan to add and have more related and general things maybe within 2 months.

You can download it from the Collaboratory.

Thanks ishvaaag for your timely response.  The calcs are not bad with a spreadsheet but the young engineer I am delegating tasks to would be able to visualize the forces and moment arms, etc. much more clearly with a program.  Thanks again and I will wait and see what you have in a couple of months.

I think the best program that will help you visualize the retaining wall loading condition would be Enercalc.  You can down load the demo version.  www.enercalc.com

By the sheets I referred to are already posted in the Collaboratory site of mathcad 2000

CTwall is still around.

Also, you may want to check into CRSI website - they have a retaining wall program available as well.  www.crsi.org.
