Simulating under Matlab or wavemetrics's Igor?

Simulating under Matlab or wavemetrics's Igor?

(OP)
I am about to perform numerical simulations involving many complex value matrices. Simulated problem are complex so that many computational loops are expected to run. As a consequence, I want the simulation to be as fast as possible.

At the moment, I am trying to find out which software, between Matlab and Wavemetrix's Igor, I am going to use to achieve the computation. I don't know which one is the fastest to execute it. Does someone know which one is the fastest or the more suitable to solve my problem?

Is there any simple and infallible way to compare the two software's computation speed? Does the relative velocities of the two softwares depend of the kind of calculation I want to achieve?

I thank you for your help.
