How is the performance of acceleration head in a suction line of a reciprocating pump with different diameters? I have a suction line with 6" and 3". What value I must to calculate and consider? One per diameter and add it? Or 3" only?

Thanks,

Ciro

Quoting from Pump Handbook by Karassik et al. (McGraw-Hill):

"When the suction system consists of pipes of various sizes, calculate the acceleration head for each section separately. Add the acceleration head of all sections to obtain the total."
